The original model was exhibited at the 1911 Salon (n 3343), acquired by the State (inv. VZD2444, 100x100x120 cm., on deposit at the rue de l'Université (according to a note in the Musée d'Orsay documentation)) and produced in bronze by Siot. De Pavlowski wrote in the 'Journal' of 14 May 1930: "'Devant l'Amour' has been favourably received and critics have declared this work to be a statue that reveals the technique of the masters of the modern school as well as the grace and suppleness of the purest of the ancients "1.
