HISTORY:
The architect Hector Guimard designed this decoration of thistles to decorate the facades of the town house of the merchant Louis-Victor Jassedé, built in 1893 at 41 rue Chardon-Lagache.
This decoration was later used to decorate panels, friezes and uprights in the Grande Tuilerie architectural ceramics catalogue of 1904.
It seems that this ephemeral calendar support was published by the Grande Tuilerie d'Ivry for advertising purposes.
PROVENANCE :
Former Yves Plantin collection.
