Emiliano de Arriaga was a writer, composer, and businessman from Bilbao, and the grandnephew of composer Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga. He is the author of various musical works, as well as literary and musicological works. Among his literary works, which include stories, articles, musicological theories, and novels depicting local customs, such as 'La pastelería,' one lexicon stands out: 'a work that became widely known thanks to the interest shown in it by another illustrious Bilbao native, Miguel de Unamuno,' who dedicated a technical work to him because of the attention his professional activity attracted, as reported by Historia Hispánica, of the Royal Academy of History.
'He signed his contributions with various pseudonyms, such as Pepe Viar, Scipión, Manuchori, and Un Chimbo, although the latter was the one he preferred to use.' Please verify if he signs the book in this way.
He served as the first president of both the Philharmonic Society and the Basque Center.
