Lo sguardo sulla realtà, exhibition catalogue Milan, Milan 1994 Emilio Gola was an artist devoted to landscapes and portraiture, but at the same time very attentive to naturalism. Intimately linked to the tradition of the Lombard Enlightenment, a precious colourism bathed in light is always present in his works, which, combined with his very elegant style of vaguely Impressionist inspiration, ensured his work important national and international recognition. In addition to the National Gallery in Rome, his paintings are held in the International Art Gallery in Venice, the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, the Mesday Museum in The Hague, the Edison Palace in Milan and many private collections.
