The title attributed to the works is an obvious reference to the artist's experiences in the United States which began in 1951 and continued for twenty-six years, characterised by relationships established with universities, public institutions, and representatives of Transatlantic culture, by numerous exhibitions from Canada to Latin America and by important recognitions from prestigious venues such as the Guggenheim Award.
