BYZANTINE EMPIRE - BYZANTINE Constantine II (641-668). Solidus with Constantine IV, Heraclius and Tiberius ND (659-662), Constantinople, 1st office. Av. D N CONSTANTIN (fragmentary). Frontal bust of Constantine II with long beard and wearing helmet adorned with cross, and Constantine IV, wearing stemma, both wearing chlamydia. Between them, a cross. Rv. VICTORIA - A - VGy (office). Cross potentate above three steps. On the left Heraclius and on the right Tiberius, carrying the stemma, wearing the chlamydia and holding the cruciger globe; below CONOB. BC.962 - Sommer 12.21 ; Gold - 4,46 g - 19 mm - 6 h NGC MS 5/5 2/5 brushed (6641392-004). The mintage barely off-centre on the reverse, notably with minimal flats on the scrolls. Barely rubbed in the fields. Superb at corner bloom.
