NGC Ch XF 5/5 2/5 bent brushed. Edge marks (6645030-003).
The blank is barely veiled. There are small marks on the edge and on the scrolls, with minimal cleaning. The strike is centered, with beautiful portraits, and a golden patina. Superb.
This magnificent aureus, with its masterfully executed portraits of the imperial couple on the reverse and of the heir to the throne on the right, clearly affirms that the dynastic continuity of the Severans is assured after the terrible years of civil war.
