NGC Ch XF 5/5 2/5 Edge marks. Brushed. Scratches (8217889-001).
Barely indented blank with small marks. Slight scratch on the right side and small handling marks. Very rare. TTB to Superb.
On the reverse, the rider is not the Emperor but rather a personification of Roman chivalry (ordo equester), one of the pillars of Roman tradition. This 1 1/2 solidi medallion was found in major collections such as that of Hirsch and Trau.
