The monumental Encyclopédie méthodique, known as the "Panckoucke Encyclopedia", was published by subscription over half a century, from 1782 to 1832. Between 1782 and 1789, Panckoucke was assisted by Clément Plomteux, a bookseller and publisher based in Liège. The complete collection comprises 102 issues, illustrated with over 6,000 plates and bound in a variable number of volumes, according to the Dictionnaire encyclopédique du livre (II, 69).
