A set of German accessories including various personal and military items, evidence of everyday life during the Second World War. Included is a Liederbuch dated 1939, with the cover detached, bearing the stamp of the Gaufuhrerschule Koblenz Trier. The set also includes an empty box marked Waschmittel, with LBA VII stamp, and some twenty photographs of German soldiers. A second Soldaten Liederbuch is also present, from Bellain in Luxembourg. In addition, there are some fifteen obituaries of Luxembourg soldiers in the German army, two campaign diaries for the years 1942 and 1943, both carefully filled in. A metal cigarette case inscribed Stettin 1944, from a prisoner hunter from the Ardennes, in the name of Rene MARNEFFE. A box marked Masken Brille still contains his original spectacles, accompanied by an inscription Groller H. The set also includes five army (Heer) belt buckles, from excavations at Wardin, Saint Hubert, Doncols and Berle. A framed photograph of a Luftwaffe soldier is included, as well as an empty pack of Bad Tol cigarettes, where an SS officer's school was located. A pair of Luftwaffe shoulder straps is also included, as is a small mine-indicating flag without its metal backing. Three tinderbox lighters, a small pocketknife from the Wiltz exhibition in Paris, two matchbooks of Belgian winter relief for the Legion Wallonie, a leather wallet embossed with the metal number 3, three spools of sewing thread, and a dozen black and white photographs relating to the scuttling of the Toulon fleet complete the set. All the items show marked wear and a patina consistent with their age. Condition II+.
