Pierre-Alphonse de Baillehache (1808-1883) Imperial Court of Colmar Advocate General's outfit including: - Bicorne in taupe felt trimmed with black feathers. Ganse and buttons embroidered with foliage in black cotton thread on black velvet. Headdress in red satinette marked Rouart rue de Richelieu in Paris. Leather headband. - Black velvet suit, richly embroidered at the collar, breastplate, facings and waist knot with leaf, oak leaf and laurel embroidery. Embroidered velvet buttons. Black sateen lining. Tears at collar and back. One of the pockets contains an invitation to the 1860 Colmar regional agricultural competition. - Black cloth trousers with velvet band embroidered with foliage. Meyer Himmes buttons. - Magistrate's sword. Chased and gilded brass frame with steel rods, guard with brass and steel chains. Openwork keyboard with eagle, decorated en suite. Triangular blade engraved in thirds. Brass hilt (leather and cap missing). A.B.E. Second Empire period. Provenance : Descendants of Pierre Alphonse de Baillehache (1808-1883).
