SET OF 2 FUNERAL ELEMENTS Wood and pigments H. 2 0 , 5 x W. 2 2 , 5 cm ; H. 3 , 5 x W. 17, 5 cm Egypt, New Kingdom, c. 1300-1200 BC Provenance European private collection, acquired from Ancient Art, Chris Martin, Southgate London, late 1990s Comprising a headrest and a falcon. For the headrest: composed of three sections, the central part consisting of a fluted octagonal column, possibly not part of the original set, with a square tenon at the top to fit into the curved neck element, and at the bottom to fit into the flared base. A Lot of 2 Egyptian New Kingdom wooden funerary elements. c. 1300-1200 BCE. Comprising a headrest and a falcon. For the headrest; Formed of three sections, the central section an octagonal fluted column, possibly not belonging, with a square tenon above for insertion into the curved neck-piece, and below for insertion into the flaring base.
