Set of two penholders
Made of carved wood and metal. The circular wooden bodies are decorated with the names ‘CATHERINE // EUGENIE // FERNAND’ carved in relief, and ‘LOUIS ROULIER’ in large letters. The set is set against a rich floral background, complemented by interlocking hands and a four-leaf clover. The base is finished with a horseshoe, decorated with a cockade. (Same artist as for the previous lot, 326). The second penholder bears the engraved surname ‘FLORE FLET’ and a design of diamond-shaped latticework and wolf’s teeth, with pewter rings inlaid between each section.
