OFFICER'S EXIT SWORD OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD Mounted in gilt brass and ebony. Pommel with the profile of the Emperor Napoleon 1st. Joint bow with radiating cartouche, body knot with a crown, from which two straight two straight quillons. Openwork keyboard with an imperial eagle clasping a thunderbolt, encircled by a plant crown. Counter keyboard with two horns of plenty. Ebony spindle squared. Solingen blade, straight with triangular engraved, gilded and one-third blued. Leather scabbard with two brass fittings, cap knob decorated with a palmette. France, First Empire period. Total length: 101.5 cm Missing cap, accidents. Oxidation. PROVENANCE : - Roger de Montégudet collection (1880-1925) - by descent to this day.
