Staff officer's sword. Spur with mother-of-pearl and ivory (elephantidae spp.) plates. Gilt and chased brass mount, pommel with staff lightning bolts. Hilt decorated with laurels and the head of Mars, keyboard decorated with trophies of ancient weapons. Triangular blade engraved, gilded and blued (minor wear). Leather scabbard (folded) with two gilt brass fittings. Length: 93 cm; Gross weight: 465 g. Fairly good condition. Circa 1820. Provenance: Collection of Mr F.
