EQUIPMENT. General officer's bridle in leather with gilt brass fittings, consisting of a browband and noseband with round and triangular decorative ornaments with fleurons, on the browband there is a central ornament with acanthus leaves, scrolls and a Medusa head in the upper part, the noseband also has an ornament with fleurons, The noseband is also ornamented with flowers, scrolls and foliage with a medallion at the ends of which is an eagle's head, buckles with chased prongs with flowers and floral motifs, a steel bit with a pigeon's throat muzzle with silver alloy bosses featuring a Medusa head, reindeer throughout with a whip at the end. The leathers are the original ones which have been greased and are therefore supple although fragile, the noseband leather is redone, the browband is split. Directoire - 1st Empire period.
