Lot no. 127
EQUIPMENT. Rare large regulation water can in tin-plated iron, stapled and soldered, missing due to oxidation. Second Empire period. ABE This example, distributed at the rate of one for every 8 men, is reputed to have been found on 13 July 1969 in a rubbish dump near the church of Loigny-la-Bataille and is clearly a relic of the fierce fighting of 2 December 1870. It was the subject of a publication in 2009.
