Bronze, patinated, 1979, one of 7 pieces. Large-format nude sculpture in the tradition of classical modernism - probably inspired by sculptors such as Aristide Maillol, Georg Kolbe and Gerhard Marcks. From 1941 to 1947, Sander studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Weimar under Walther Klemm, among others, interrupted by labour and military service as well as imprisonment. Sander's first solo exhibition at the Jenaer Kunstverein took place during the war in 1944. He worked as a freelance artist in Jena from 1947, moved to West Berlin in 1953 and to Bonn in 1955. From 1963/64, Ernemann Sander lived and worked in nearby Königswinter-Oberdollendorf near Bonn. His works for public spaces can be found in Bonn as well as in a number of other German cities. One of Sander's comparable nude sculptures is the "Bather" from 1965 in the sculpture courtyard of the Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Bonn. 71 cm x 77 cm x 129 cm.
Another example was shown in a solo exhibition at the Kunstraum-Galerie in Cologne in 1983.
