ERTE (ROMAIN DE TIRTOFF) (1892-1990) Nine original drawings in a notebook. Pencil. Each drawing is signed 'Erté'. Notebook - 27x20 cm. In good condition, small stains on the pages. Roman Petrovich Tyrtov was a Russian-born painter, graphic artist, illustrator, decorator, fashion designer and sculptor of the Art Deco period who worked in Paris and Hollywood. He is known by the pseudonym Erté (made up of the first letters of his surname and first name), which he took 'so as not to dishonour his family' of aristocratic origin.
