SPAIN ORDER OF SAINT-FERDINAND, created in 1811 Knight's Cross 1st class Gold and enamel. Fluted ring. Red ribbon with yellow stripes. Gross weight: 11.5 g 49 x 38 mm T.T.B. Manufactured around 1820. Created by the Cortes of Cadiz in 1811, the order was awarded to valiant soldiers in the war against the French. The order was confirmed by King Ferdinand VII on his return in 1815 and given to many Frenchmen for the Spanish campaign of 1823.
