ETRUSCAN BRONZE HEAD OF GRIFFON Ca. 700 - 500 BC.
A cast bronze terminal in the form of a griffon’s head with gaping jaws, prominent fangs, large upright ears, and a flared mane extending along the back of the head and neck. The piece is curved and hollowed, suggesting use as a decorative fitting or spout.
