ETTORE BERALDINI Savigliano, 1887 - Verona, 1965 Portrait of a little girl Signed Ettore Beraldini bottom right Oil on cardboard, 70X50 cm Ettore Beraldini was born at a time when art was changing face between tradition and modernity. From a young age, he showed an innate talent for drawing and a particular sensitivity to the nuances of everyday life: his gaze was turned towards what was most simple and human that could capture emotion. Children at play, female figures immersed in everyday gestures, still lifes with great attention to detail - these were the subjects that fascinated him. Throughout his career, Beraldini continued to explore familiar and intimate subjects, never losing his attention to detail and light. Each work seems to suggest a story, a small personal universe, as if the artist were inviting the viewer to stop and observe with the same attentive gaze with which he saw the world. Beraldini was also particularly appreciated for his mastery of engraving, a technique that allowed him to express the characteristics of his portrayed subjects with great detail and sensitivity. His works show a profound attention to line and light, elements that give his engravings a distinctive and refined character.
