Eugen Klimsch (1839 Frankfurt a. M. - 1896 ibid.) Museal Belle Epoque ornamental fan with painting "The fan in celebration and play" 12 folding rods and 2 cover rods made of silver, backed with mother-of-pearl. The fan blade made of swan skin, painted on the front with comedians, putti and gallant company, showing various uses for fans, such as an actress covering her eyes with her fan or a pair of putti hiding behind a large fan. With decorative tassel. Attached to green velvet fabric. Semi-circular, ornamented wooden frame. Signed and dated; frame damaged; overall size 84 cm x 57 cm. "Der Fächer in Fest und Spiel", painted by Klimsch, with frame chased by W. Widman, mounted by Hessenberg & Co. was part of the exhibition "Alte und neue Fächer aus der Sammlung zu Karlsruhe" 1891 and is illustrated in the accompanying exhibition catalogue on plate 19.
