Ce dernier avait été inspiré par la découverte des trésors de Crimée excavés durant les années 1830 puis 1860. Grâce à une étude attentive de ces trésors Kollin et ses apprentis devinrent hautement spécialisés dans le travail de l'orfèvrerie. Dans son écrin estampillé un exemplaire de ce bracelet fut présenté à l'exposition Pan-Russe à Moscou en 1882 et attira l'attention du Tsar Alexandre III. Ce dernier récompensa la maison Fabergé par une médaille d'or déclarant qu'il ne pouvait faire la différence entre le bracelet de Kollin et un exemplaire du IVe siècle conservé à l'Hermitage. La manufacture russe fut acclamée et ses créations hissées au rang des grands chefs d'œuvre russe. Finely chased and carved this beautiful gold enamelled Scythian style bangle is an example of the model designed a few years previous in the early 1880s by Erik Kollin chief workmaster for Fabergé. He was inspired by gold artefacts excavated near Kerch in the Crimea during the 1830s and the 1860s. Through careful study of these original bracelets Kollin and his apprentices became highly skilled in the art of the ancient goldsmiths. This model of bangle was shown at the Moscow Pan-Russian Exhibition in 1882 and drew the attention of Tsar Alexander III. He rewarded Carl Fabergé with a gold medal as it is said he could not tell the difference between the bangle by Kollin and the 4th century Scythian artefacts displayed at the Hermitage Museum. Fabergé received very high acclaim and his works of art were recognised as objects of great Russian craftsmanship henceforth to be displayed at the Hermitage.
