EXCEPTIONAL, FINE AND IMPORTANT SILK GHUM Velvet, warp, weft and fringes in silk. Ivory field decorated with scrolls and garlands of finely drawn polychrome flowering palmettes surrounded by stylized stems of flowers and foliage framing a large central medallion in the shape of a midnight-blue stylized diamond inlaid with a thousand pastel flowers. Four spandrels decorated with multicoloured floral wreaths. Seven borders, the main one in midnight blue decorated with seedbeds of pastel-coloured flower buds and bulbs in the shape of burst diamonds. Remarkably fine.
