Fascinating chest and hammer mechanism, the walnut stock separates longitudinally into two half parts secured together by the long stock grenadière screw. This disassembly gives access to the hammer mechanism and master spring, which are fully visible for ease of maintenance. The two side plates are dismantled by means of a transverse screw passing through the axis of the hammers. The lever is marked "LAMBERT HANCOUET INVI BTE".
