EXTREMELY FINE ROMAN BRONZE FITTING WITH RAM HEAD AND FLORAL DECORATIONS Augustan Period, Ca. 33 BC - AD 14. A fragmentary bronze fitting cast in the form of a ram’s head sculpted with a tightly curled horn, incised patterning representing wool on the neck, and a naturalistically shaped snout. Behind the head, a raised beaded border separates the anatomical section from a smooth, curving field decorated with symmetrical scrollwork in low relief, ending at a vertical edge with notched fluting.
