An exceptional and rare ensemble dating to the 18th century, comprising a ceremonial belt with sword hanger and matching vest, likely of European aristocratic origin. The belt and hanger are constructed from fine silk or satin fabric with gold bullion embroidery and gilded metal mounts in floral and foliate motifs, showing exquisite rococo taste. The hanger retains all original suspension straps and brass buckles. The vest is crafted from ivory-coloured silk velvet, lined and trimmed with metallic braid, and fastened with beautifully chased gilded buttons. This highly decorative set exemplifies ceremonial attire worn during formal military or court occasions. The richness of materials and quality of workmanship indicate high rank or noble status.
