FAT is a French graffiti artist born in Paris in 1990. It was photography
that attracted him, and after passing a CAP in photography he joined the
Lycée Professionnel Régional de la Photographie et de l'Image de
Paris (Brassai). Workshop projects and exhibitions followed.
While photographing graffiti artists from the TVA crew, he met FAST, who was to guide him and teach him the art of graffiti.
who guided him and taught him graffiti. He joined the crew in 2005 and
did murals and vandalism. At first, having mastered photography
and painting techniques, he mainly did lettering.
Even today, you can come across Looney
tunes characters at the turn of a train or metro station. FAT continues
continues to write. The subjects of his paintings are often painted outside their
their original context, which is replaced by a graffiti backdrop.
The colours are raised, the background is worked, with a lot of
lettering. Spray paint is used as a counterpoint to posca and acrylic.
and acrylics.
The familiar world of children and cartoonists is projected
into the world of FAT.
