A curved armchair in painted and gilded wood,
The armrests are in the shape of cornucopias, the x-shaped base finished with claw feet, with an apocryphal stamp and mark of the Château de Saint-Cloud; (probable transformation to the backrest; paint and gilding redone).
Attributed to Georges Jacob.
Directoire period, circa 1790-1795.

A pair of similar armchairs stamped by Georges Jacob, the back with triangular pediment, were sold in Paris, Ader study, 24 June 2016, lot 312.
