Lot no. 64
FEDOT SYCHKOV (1870-1958) Portrait of a peasant woman with a red shawl signed in Cyrillic "F. Sychkov" (lower right) oil on canvas 54 x 36 cm Fedot Vasilyevich Sychkov was a talented and original painter of the countryside. His cheerful, masterfully executed works, whose heroes are his compatriots, are a special chronicle of life in his native Mordovia. F.V. Sychkov saw his artistic destiny in revealing the beauty and uniqueness of village life, which he felt and understood more deeply than many other artists, because he came from this environment and never broke with it. "I have dedicated my art to reflecting life in the Russian countryside" - wrote the artist. At the buyer's request, we will be happy to provide a general condition report on the lot described above.
