Fine Meissen tabatiere with turquoise ground and kakiemon painting Round shape with matching, silver-gilt hinged lid. Turquoise coloured ground. White, gold-contoured quatrefoil cartouches in the centre and trinary of the wall. Alternating chrysanthemum branches in bloom on the wall. In the mirror and covering the entire inner lid, a stylised garden landscape with a terrace balustrade not far from various flowering branches of peonies and chrysanthemums, some rising from behind a rock, as well as a bamboo branch. The interior floor with imitation marble. Painted in purple camaieu and polychrome, partly heightened with gold. D. 7 cm. H. 4,5 cm. A fine gilt-silver mounted porcelain turquoise ground snuff box painted with Kakiemon decor. Meissen. Circa 1735 - 1740.
