On the 19th, there is mention of a visit from a wealthy American client who "would like to see the Parabère", and in September, a failed test of a plate. The annotation and precise dating in Bracquemond's hand confirm his authorship, while the sculptor Edouard Lindeneher was only responsible for modelling after the drawings.
