Die vorliegende Figur fällt durch eine feine, detailreiche Modellierung besonders im Bereich von Gesicht und Füßen auf und läßt eine warme, tiefe Farbgebung der Patina erkennen. - A Figure 'The Belvedere Antinous' Italy or France, around 1700. H. 51 cm. - The ancient marble, first mentioned in 1543, is next to the Venus Medici one of the most inspiring figures of the early modern period, models made of bronze or marble in different sizes became coveted items of each princely or worldly collection. The present bronze sculpture is characterized by a subtile modeling especially in the area of the face, hair or feet and shows a deep and warm brown coloring of the patina. -
