FIGURINE PENDANT IN STEATITE
Anatolian art, circa 5th-4th millennium BC
This small statuette is a highly stylised representation of a seated anthropomorphic figure, with its arms folded under its chest and its thighs hypertrophied in the tradition of steatopygian goddesses of the period. A hole in the centre of the figurine allows it to be suspended.
