First French edition of the discourses of the Italian humanist Francesco Filelfo (1398-1481), from Tolentino in the Marche. This is the seventh edition of this work, first published in Milan in 1483 and then in Brescia, Venice and Basel before 1498.
The volume was printed by the humanist Josse Bade (1462-1535). It is printed in Roman type with the large typographical mark of the bookseller Jean Petit on the title.
From the library of Colbert (1728, II, n°10816), with handwritten ex-libris of the Bibliotheca Colbertina at the top of the title. Old handwritten annotations in the margins and covering two blank pages in fine; underlined in the text.
