FINE GREEK HIGH KARAT GOLD GORGONEION PENDANT. Ca. 400 BC A gold repoussé pendant centred by a Gorgoneion mask in high relief, enclosed by concentric moulded rings. Three small circular loops are set to either side of the upper edge and at the base for suspension or attachment. Size: 26mm x 25mm; Weight: 1g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was documented and authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery.
