FON, Kingdom of Dahomey (Benin). Wood, beautiful patina. A superb old three-legged "Kataklè" chair, the circular seat engraved with geometric motifs. The term "Kataklè" refers to a three-legged royal seat used during official ceremonies to symbolise stability, power and unity. It represents the first seat used for the coronation of the king. Size: 46, 5x32, 5x21 cm. Restoration work.
