Strong, single-shot, 27mm calibre, percussion shotgun. Round, ribbon, thunderbolt barrel engraved with a duck and signed "CHAs JONES 26 St JAMES STt LONDON". Front lock signed "CHs JONES" and hammer engraved with foliage, hammer and bird. Patinated iron fittings engraved with scrolls. Strong varnished walnut stock, partly checkered. Wooden ramrod with brass tip. Numbered "1597" on the trigger guard. Length: 134 cm. Good condition. Circa 1830. With a damaged leather strap. Charles JONES, harquebusier active in St James Street from 1828 to 1842. He was harquebusier to William IV, Prince Albert and King Louis Philippe. Provenance: Collection of Monsieur F.
