Strong revolutionary officer's sabre. Full iron filigree handle. Chased and gilded brass mounting. Long-tailed cap representing the scarified club of Hercules, surmounted by a lion's head. Guard with one intertwined branch, two secondaries, with pomegranate shell, bundle of flags and branches of oak and laurel. Carved, radiating top. Curved blade with flat back, counter-edge and hollow sides, engraved, gilded and one-third blued. Leather scabbard with two brass fittings, cut out, line-decorated and gilded. With oval brass disc, numbered 108. ABE revolutionary period (wear and repairs to the leather)
