Lot no. 60
FRAGMENT OF A BAS-RELIEF
Depicting a male profile, the bust is presented from the front, the head in profile to the right, wearing a skullcap. The naked torso is adorned with a pectoral and a necklace, the pendant of which is now difficult to identify due to the fracture of the relief. The 4 claws on the left shoulder and the knot are reminiscent of the panther skin worn by priests. For a similar representation, see the bas-relief of Mentuemhat as a priest, in the Cleveland Museum, 1949.492 (fig.1).
