FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Charles VII (1422-1461). Agnel d'or, 2nd issue ND (1427), La Rochelle. Av + AGN: DEI: QVI TOLL: PECAT: MVDI: MISE: NOBIS. Paschal lamb left, one of its forelegs raised, head turned to the right, before a cross with crosslet, within a polylobe of balls interrupted at the bottom; in the exergue: K': F - RX. Rv. + XPC'* VINCIT* XPC'* REGNAT* XPC'* IMPERAT. Cross trefoiled and leaved, with star in heart, between three lilies and a cross, all within an angled quatrefoil between seven small lilies. Dy.372B1 or 452B - Fr.290-304; Gold - 2.54 g - 24 mm - 8 h This is the second highest grade (5)! NGC MS 63 (8524371-002). Some weaknesses of strikes for this specimen which circulated little. The blank is regular, with a beautiful golden patina. Superb at Fleur de coin. With three lilies and a cross on the reverse, these gold agnels are now given to Charles VII.
