Rv. (sun) DVM. TOTVM. COMPLEAT. ORBEM (date) (different). Cross formed of four crowned H's, cantoned by two crescents and two lilies, (workshop) in the heart of the cross. Dy.971A - G.394B (R5) - Sb.4974 (1? ex. reported ?) - L./P. - Fr.367 ; Gold - 5.71 g - 27.5 mm - 3 h From a sale MDC 3, 1 December 2017, No. 412 (GK collection) then sale Roma Numismatics Ltd XXIV, 28 March 2022, No. 1287. PCGS Genuine cleaned-AU Detail (55951746). Traces of rubbing in the fields. Of low weight, with an undetermined difference at the end of the reverse legend: however of excellent style, with the fine crescents on the reverse characteristic of Poitiers. Extremely rare if not unique. Superb. The register Z1B/331 of the National Archives shows us the production of the Poitiers mint which ended in 1558 with gold henris, the workshop was then closed until 1563 when production resumed under the master Léon Regnault, clerk to the master (gold shields and testons), the production of 1560 is not attested in the register, nor that of 1561 although a gold henri is also attested for this date.
