The archangel Gabriel standing before the Virgin Mary to whom he hands a parchment bearing the word AVE, behind the escutcheons of France-Angleterre; above the rays of the sun. Rv. (workshop) XPC'* VINCIT'* XPC'* REGNAT'* XPC'* IMPERAT'*. Plain latin cross between a lily and a leopard, below which is an uncial H, within a fleurdelisé polylobe. Dy.443A - AGC.386F 1/b - Fr.301 ; Gold - 3,33 g - 27 mm - 4 h NGC AT 58 (6633221-002). With pointed annulus under the last letters of the legends, mark of the master Étienne Marcel (1433-1444). The blank is barely veiled, with regular wear and a pleasant golden patina. A superb copy.
