This medal alludes to the siege of the town of Aire and the demands made by the allies at the Hague conferences, which Philippe REtourna en France, REnonça à l'Espagne et REstitue ce qu'il a pris, rhymes in RE repeated in the tune of the Allies' song, with the note RE three times. The tune ARIA is also a pun on the name of Aire-sur-la-Lys. The note SOL is an allusion to the Sun King, whose emblem disappears behind the score. This medal appears to be by Georg Friedrich Nürnberger, possibly in collaboration with Martin Brunner.
