Top Pop: this is the finest graded example!
PCGS MS61 (49894392).
A few flaws in the blank, lamination and adjustment, but an example that has circulated little, with a deep shiny grey patina with golden highlights. Superb at Fleur de coin.
These coins were used to pay troops fighting on the frontiers, made in Lyon for troops fighting the Savoyards in the south-east and in Metz for troops fighting the Imperials in the north-east. They may also have been used for the American colonies.
