Beautifully struck, centred, a little soft on the reverse. Nice patina from an old collection. Superb.
Carloman II was king of the Franks from 879 to 884, the son of Louis II the Beggar and Ansgarde of Burgundy. He reigned with his brother Louis III until the latter's death in 882 and died in 884, aged just 17.
