The blank is slightly indented, but the strike is centred, on a fairly wide blank. With a dark grey patina. Very nice quality for this rare type. TTB.
These denarii were present in the treasure of Fécamp buried around 980, with a marked wear of circulation, these denarii are contemporary of Louis IV d'Outremer and were struck under his reign. Dumas gives a probable date of 944, following Louis IV's trip to Aquitaine, or around 950, following the fortification work carried out by Thibaut le Tricheur, Viscount of Tours and Lord of Chinon.
