A set of three decorations belonging to Captain Boittelle, relative of Senator Symphorien Casimir Joseph Boittelle Biography : Symphorien Boittelle (1813-1897) Destined for a career in arms, Symphorien Boittelle entered Saint-Cyr in 1833. A quarrelsome officer in the lancers, he left the army in 1845. Linked to the Bonapartists, he became Prefect of Police and then Senator in 1866. Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour in 1862. He was the son of Casimir Joseph Boittelle (1791-1879), chairman of the Vicoigne mining company.
