The Duke on horseback, galloping right, sword raised, cuirassed, wearing a helmet topped with the ducal crown, and covering himself with a shield with three ermine spots set 2 and 1; the horse's caparison is sown with ermine spots. Rv. +* DEVS* IN* ADIVTORIVM* MEVM* IN* TANDE* (workshop)*. Cross trifoliate, with quatrefoil in heart, cantoned by four ermine spots, within an angled quatrefoil. Dy.318 - Jéz.385b ? - Fr.95; Gold - 3.36 g - 27.5 mm - 11 h Top Pop: the most beautiful graded example! PCGS MS63 (51871361). The horse's hind legs do not cut the legend: attribution to François I. Barely treflé strike but fine relief and slight wear. Beautiful golden patina. Superb at Fleur de coin.
